Horticulture, Cookery & Arts

The Horticulture Marquee is at the very heart of Heckington Show
"Absolutely amazing. You would not expect such a large bustling show in a small village like Heckington." 
​The Horticulture section incorporates Horticulture, Floral Art, Cookery, Honey, Wine, Handicrafts, Art and Photography,
​as well as a large selection of
 ​Horticulture Trade Stands.  ​

​HOW TO ENTER:
  1. Download the Schedule using the link below
  2. Choose which classes you want to enter
  3. Enter online using the link below - (online entries close on Wed 22nd July at 1pm)
  4. OR,  Post your entry forms to the address in the Schedule
  5. OR,  Bring your entry forms to Heckington Village Hall on Wednesday 22nd July, between 5.30pm - 8pm​
  6. You then need to bring your competition entries to the Horticulture Marquee (located at Green Gate) 
    ​between 6.00 pm and 9.00 pm on Friday 24th July, or between 7.00 am & 9.00 am on Saturday 25th July

With an array of vegetables, floral displays, cakes and crafts, there is something for everyone. It provides a perfect opportunity for everyone to get involved and take part in this very traditional festival and to show just what they have produced over the year. 

There are over 30 different cups, bowls and trophies to be won in what is always a highly competitive atmosphere. Entries for most classes are open to all, with special sections for Heckington residents & members of Heckington Gardening Club.

New for 2020

We opened up our Group Art Competition to all all ages.  Anyone who is a member of a recognised group, organisation or home now has a change to get crafty!
​Theme for the year for the Group Art is  'Heroes and Villains’'

​Children's Section

There are opportunities for the Under 16's to enter all sections of the horticulture show from vegetables to art and photography, with a special competition each year to design the front cover of the schedule.

2020
Group Art Competition "Heroes and Villains" open to all school groups, playgroups and groups of children and adults involved in named organisations and homes.
A collage and/or painting, max size 841 x 1189 mm (A0)



Prize money of £50 (1st), £30 (2nd) and £20 (3rd) for the Group Art Competition
