Scurry DrivingWE ARE SORRY TO ADVISE THAT THERE WILL NOT BE SCURRY RACING AT THE 2019 SHOW
What is Scurry Driving? Scurry Driving is driving a pair of ponies at an amazing speed through a course of tricky ‘gates’ made from cones which have a ball perched on the top! If a ball is dislodged then there are time penalties to add to the total score. They pull light weight carriages and the drivers must be highly skilled. There is always someone else in the carriage to help balance it. “Ponies strain at their collars when they hear the bell. The drivers feel a breeze of up to 35mph, which on a short straight would keep up with a racehorse. It adds up to a wonderful adrenalin rush”. Easy to follow, easy to understand and appreciated by people of all ages including those who have no working knowledge of horses. Always a crowd pleaser and a sport where the spectators are encouraged to shout and cheer for their personal favourites! Forget any ideas of a sedate pony and trap drive; scurry driving is fast and furious!
